ARLINGTON, Wash. — Arlington Flight Services, Inc. – the Avfuel-branded FBO at Arlington Municipal Airport (AWO), approximately 50 miles north of Seattle – is seeing an uptick in business as it and the airport continue to invest in improvements, including the availability of jet fuel, ramp construction, and the addition of self-serve fuel tanks.
“We saw an amazing opportunity here at KAWO,” said Lucas Smith, Flight Operations Director. “The airport had no FBO in the classic sense. We haven’t even been open a year and already we’re beginning to realize the airport’s and the FBO’s potential.”
Arlington Flight Services marks the first time that jet fuel has been readily available for purchase at Arlington Municipal Airport, he noted. Prior, “Fuel could be arranged, but it was very inconvenient,” said Smith. “Needless to say, the airport was seeing very little jet traffic. With the addition of readily-available jet fuel and the construction of the ramp, we’ve seen an increase over the past couple weeks. We’d love to see more.”
Additional fuel-related improvements include the installation of two self-service tanks for 100LL and ethanol-free gasoline. “We’ve noticed quite a few piston aircraft using auto fuel at this airport,” said Smith.
“The team behind Arlington Flight Services took advantage of a real opportunity to enhance the general aviation experience at Arlington Municipal Airport,” said Marci Ammerman, Avfuel Vice President, Marketing. “As a company exclusively committed to aviation and heavily invested in the pilot and flight department community, we are thrilled to partner with an FBO that exhibits that same devotion.”
Arlington Flight Services boasts a newly-remodeled facility, as well as maintenance, aircraft rental, and flight training. Amenities include a crew car, oxygen, line services, pilot lounge, snooze room, WiFi, an On-Staff AME and more. AVTRIP Points are available on qualified fuel purchases.
