Maryland Festival of Flight slated

By General Aviation News Staff · May 27, 2013 ·

The third annual Maryland Regional Festival of Flight will be held on Saturday, June 8, at The Ocean City Airport from 7 a.m. until noon. The airshow begins at noon at the beach.

The Festival, hosted by The Federal Aviation Administration’s Safety Team (FAAST), will feature Wings approved seminars for aviators of all backgrounds throughout the morning, presented by FAASTeam representatives and senior aviators.

Additionally, the Explore Maryland by Air awards ceremony, sponsored by the Maryland Airport Managers Association (MAMA), will take place. The breakfast and morning events are free and advanced registration is not required.

The Ocean City Maryland Air Show will thrill spectators at the beach in the afternoon from noon until 4 p.m. Static displays and local food will help to make the day fun, informative and exciting, organizers say. Bus transportation to and from the airshow will be provided from the Ocean City Airport.

The festival and the airshow are great opportunities to explore the local aviation community and meet aviation enthusiasts, pilots, and other aviation professionals, according to organizers. Fly or drive; pilots can get a “passport stamp” for Ocean City Municipal Airport and an additional stamp for attending the FAAST Safety Seminars!
