Think Global Flight has been awarded a Wolf Aviation Fund grant, which will be used to “fuel” the excitement as the crew travels the globe promoting education and inspiring students.
Think Global Flight, an around the world flight of adventure, recognizes the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. The crew hopes that this flight will increase the number of students around the globe interested in and inspired by aviation and aerospace as they follow the crew on their journey around the Earth.
There are currently 10,000 students participating across the globe in 10 countries and 25 states. The FAA and Department of Education has recognized this program for providing real world application to learning. The Wolf Aviation Fund joins other industry leaders on this endeavor, including Guidance Aviation, Jeppesen, Sennheiser, Cirrus Aircraft, AOPA, Abingdon Co., and Garmin.
Each year the Wolf Aviation Fund provides funding for projects that promote and support general aviation. Projects must fit into the foundation’s seven major program areas with Think Global Flight meeting the needs of three: Communications, Media, and Community Relations; Improving Public Understanding and Perception; and Aviation and Space Education.
“The Wolf Aviation Fund is noted for its long support of people doing great work in general aviation. Our review team was impressed with this flight’s involvement with students, teachers, and classrooms in so many countries around the world. We are pleased to support such a worthy project and hope others do so too,” says Rol Murrow Executive Director.
