In a year when so many airshows have been cancelled due to sequestration, D&D Marketing Concepts Inc. will debut The Heart Of Texas Airshow Sept. 28 at Texas State Technical College Airport (CNW) in Waco, Texas.
The Heart Of Texas Airshow promises to provide something for everyone in an action-packed day of fun for the entire family, organizers promise. Before and after the airshow crowds will be entertained with helicopters, airplanes, warbirds, powered parachutes, skydivers, radio control aircraft and more, in static displays and demonstrations. Flights will be available throughout the day to the public in helicopters, airplanes, historic warbirds and biplanes.
Debby Standefer, president of The Heart Of Texas Airshow, states “we are very exited to be hosted by Texas State Technical College in Waco, flying from their incredible airport, previously known as John Connally AFB, and helping TSTC show off their state of the art aviation and aerospace division — they have a champion flight team of their own — as well as many of the departments and programs they offer.”
Waco is very focused on aviation with its own Aviation Business Alliance, she said, adding many of these businesses will be participating in the event.
Headlining the performer lineup is two-time Red Bull Air Race Champion and five-time National Aerobatic Champion Kirby Chambliss (pictured above). He is ranked in the top 15 aerobatic pilots in the nation and brings his tremendous performance including his Cobra takeoff.
Also featured will be the Trojan Phlyers Demo Team (pictured below). Piloted by highly decorated combat veteran pilots performing precision close formation aerobatic routines demonstrating the cutting edge performance of the Trojan T28 warbird and the flying expertise acquired in formal military training, the Trojan Phlyers demonstrate high speed action with the roar of the big engines as they fly their historic aircraft rich in military history in a unique and thrilling performance and salute the veterans or our great nation and the men and women who continue to serve and protect us today.
Justin Lewis, owner and pilot of the World’s Smallest Jet, as seen in the James Bond movie, will fly his FLS Microjet.
The Cavanaugh Flight Museum out of Addison, Texas, will bring a variety of historic aircraft and has rides available to the public.
Mike “Spanky” Gallaway, announcer for the famous Red Bull Air Races and other prestigious events, will announce the show.
Jan Collmer, co founder of the Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas and a veteran Navy fighter pilot, will fly his Extra 300L.
