Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome to hold artists, authors and photographers weekend

By General Aviation News Staff · June 24, 2013 ·

RHINEBECK, N.Y. — An open invitation has been offered to artists, photographers, authors and poets to participate in the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome’s Artists Authors and Photographers Weekend June 29-30.

The Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome is a not-for-profit organization specializing in early aviation. The museum and grounds boast some of the rarest authentic and replica planes from the early 1900s through the late 1930s. Every weekend between June and October vintage aircraft from the collection take to the skies to perform amazing airshows.

Live music will be performed both days before the shows. Saturday, The Acoustic Medicine Show will perform, and Sunday music will be performed by Bruce, Dick & Matt. Snacks and drinks are available on grounds.

All artists, photographers and authors are invited to bring their cameras, paints, pencils, canvases, easels, and whatever else they might need to create live works on the grounds of the Aerodrome for this event. Each participant is invited to set up a booth to sell their art (commission free), and to view the live airshow between 2-4 pm Saturday and Sunday. All artists, photographers, and authors who pre-register will receive free admission (a $20 value).
