Hartzell Top Prop now available for Stationair

By General Aviation News Staff · June 27, 2013 ·

Newly certified is Hartzell Propeller’s scimitar aluminum propeller designed for installation on current production Cessna T206H Turbo Stationair aircraft.

Tthe 3-blade prop improves aircraft performance significantly, according to company officials, who note it is also available with aircraft-compatible de-ice boots.

The propeller diameter is 82” in contrast to the 79” original installed at Cessna.

The kit includes an extended hub and a polished aluminum spinner, as well as all STC documentation. Flight-tested performance enhancements include a 10% improvement in climb performance and an increase in the cruise performance of 1-4 knots, improving with altitude, company officials note.

The introductory list prices for the new three-blade propeller kits are $11,700, and $12,800 for the de-ice model.

The Top Prop Program at Hartzell started in 1991 with the purchase of three, three blade, prop-only STCs. These conversions were for the Mooney M20, the Piper Arrow, and the Cessna Cardinal. The current catalog offers more than 65 company-owned STCs, and more than 170 unique conversion kits.
