Wipaire completes Type Certification Authorization for Grand Caravan on floats

SOUTH SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Officials with Wipaire Inc. report that the company has completed FAA Type Inspection Authorization for the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX on Wipline 8750 floats.

The authorization, received ahead of schedule, follows completion of both certification flight testing and performance testing.

wipaire“We are excited to bring the Wipline 8750 to Grand Caravan EX owners and operators,” said company president and chief operating officer Chuck Wiplinger. “The Grand Caravan EX makes a fantastic floatplane with incredible performance, utility, and capacity. We’re looking forward to seeing them in operation.”

The Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX will boast a 9,062-pound gross weight on Wipline 8750 floats, with no landing weight limitations. This is a gross weight increase of 255 pounds over the factory gross weight, company officials note.

Wipaire also holds the approval for single-point fuel installation for all Cessna 208 models.
