Good ole-fashioned Arlington Fly-In

By General Aviation News Staff · July 15, 2013 ·

ARLINGTON, Wash. – Good weather blessed Arlington Fly-In attendees this year. While aircraft traffic was light on opening day, Friday morning the aircraft show line filled up fast. Before the airshow started Friday afternoon there were few open parking spots.

The vendor area was lighter than 2012.

Crowds also felt light, but Lockwood Aviation Supply‘s Phil Lockwood noted standing room only at his Thursday and Friday morning Rotax forums.

Saturday saw “Chamber of Commerce” weather. The Cascade mountains to the east formed a beautiful backdrop for the flying activity. Saturday felt the busiest, as it should be, of the three days.

I’ve attended the Arlington Fly-In since the early 1970s. To me, this year felt like a good, ole-fashioned fly-in. And in my book, that’s a good thing.
