EAA Chapter 50 slates last fly-in at SKY

By General Aviation News Staff · July 16, 2013 ·

With great sadness, the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 50, will hold its 17th — and final — annual Fly-In Pancake Breakfast at Griffing-Sandusky Airport (SKY) in Ohio.

Since 1937, The Griffing family owned and operated airport has provided international services to the North Coast of Ohio, including mail, freight, and passenger service to the Lake Erie Islands and Pelee Island in Canadian waters. While phasing out airport operations, the family has graciously allowed one final fly-in to be held Aug. 11,  8 am-Noon. Breakfast includes scrambled eggs, sausage, orange juice, milk or water with unlimited pancakes and coffee. Adults $6; kids $3.

Oh, no! Those guys are great. We’ve flown into SKY a couple of times to go to Cedar Point (best roller coaster park on the planet!). Sure will miss that airport.
