Taco Bell Foundation grant helps teens attend Aviation Summer Camp

By General Aviation News Staff · July 17, 2013 ·

SALISBURY, N.C. — More than 14 teens are attending Aviation Summer Camp this week, thanks to a grant awarded by the Taco Bell Foundation for Teens. The funds supported the aviation day camp at the Rowan County Airport (RUQ) intended to give students an overview of all aspects of aviation and inspire teens to graduate high school and reach their full potential by exploring career opportunities in aviation.

“The Taco Bell Foundation for Teen’s generous support makes a meaningful impact on the lives of our campers, said Jana Brown, education coordinator for EAA Chapter 1083. “It’s because of partnerships like this that we are able to offer the aviation experience that inspires our campers to stay committed to earning their high school degree and move onto great things in life.”

EAA Chapter 1083 is one of more than 300 teen-serving organizations nationwide to receive a portion of $3 million granted by the Taco Bell Foundation for Teens this year.

Throughout its 20-year history, the Taco Bell Foundation for Teens has awarded more than $42million in grants and scholarships.
