Montgomery Aviation at Indianapolis Executive Airport (TYQ) will host its seventh annual open house and fly-in Aug 3. The event is a fundraiser for Down Syndrome Indiana.
The event, from 10 am-2 pm, is free to the public and will feature a number of activities and aircraft, including a Huey helicopter, Commemorative Air Force (CAF) aircraft, a magic show with aviation “surprise”, an airplane candy drop, a hot dog lunch and other food vendors, dozens of local vendors, bounce houses, remote control airplanes, a Civil Air Patrol (CAP) airplane, and discovery flights.
All proceeds from food and raffle ticket sales goes to Down Syndrome Indiana in addition to generous contributions from the many corporate sponsors of the event. Over the past six years, the event has raised more than $60,000 for Down Syndrome Indiana.
“This annual event is one of the highlights of our year. We believe in giving back to the community and cannot think of a better organization to partner with than Down Syndrome Indiana,” said Montgomery Aviation owner Dan Montgomery. “In addition to supporting a great charity, this event allows the community to come out and see their local airport and partake in a great day of family friendly activities. We hope that this event will spark an interest in aviation among some of the young people in our community.”
