By General Aviation News Staff · August 9, 2013 ·

Quad City Ultralight Aircraft Corp. is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. As part of the festivities, the company is holding a fly-in Sept 20-21 at Erie Air Park in Erie, Ill.

“We are trying to get all the dealers to the fly-in this year for the single reason of — WOW 30 YEARS — how often does that happen for an airplane manufacturer, with the same owners to boot?” company officials said.

Those interested can start flying in on Sept. 19. Please bring your own tie downs. Primitive camping is available again this year at owner Jim & Sue Robinson’s. There will be food vendors at the bonfire on Friday night and all day Saturday and Saturday night.

Factory tours will be available on Thursday, Sept 19, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. and on Friday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Company officials have blocked off 40 rooms again at the La Quinta Inn at a special rate of $69.30 plus tax for (30) 2 double beds or $64.80 plus tax for (10) king size bed per night. Please mention that you are coming in for the Quad City Ultralight Aircraft when making the reservation. La Quinta Inn is 309-762-9008 or 866-527-1498.. Reservation Block Confirmation number is GRTNCE. You will need to make reservations by Aug. 30, company officials said.
