BLOOMER, Wis. — Flight Resource, the world’s largest distributor of MT Propellers, reports that an STC has been approved to install 4-blade MT composite propellers on the Cirrus SR22 and SR22T, including those with Flight Into Known Icing (FIKI).
This upgrade provides up to 17 pounds of weight savings, turbine-like smoothness, reduced noise (inside and out), and improvements in climb and cruise performance, according to company officials.
Flight-Resource Founding Partner and Technical Specialist Larry Schlasinger stated, “FIKI approval is not an easy task. We are always looking for ways to get the most performance out of our planes. This upgrade hit all benchmarks and it looks so good on this plane.”
The MT composite propeller is a lightweight alternative to conventional forged aluminum props. The high-thrust scimitar blades incorporate a stainless steel leading edge on high-thrust, precision CNC milled blades with no life limits, company officials noted.
