AWI receives PMA for C-152 engine mount

By General Aviation News Staff · November 2, 2013 ·

EAGAN, Minn. — Aerospace Welding Minneapolis has received FAA/PMA approval on its Cessna 152 engine mount, the first of a number of engine mount PMAs the company will be pursuing.

FAA/PMA approval has been issued for Part Number A0451003-36. The mount replaces Cessna Part Number 0451003-36, and is eligible for installation on Cessna 152s starting with serial number 15279406 and on all subsequent serial numbers, and on serial number A1500433 and on all subsequent serial numbers.

AWI CEO Tom Heid commented, “Having completed the consolidation of the assets of Kosola and Associates into the existing AWI Engine mount shop, we are now rolling out our first engine mount PMA. Moving forward, the AWI PMA team will work to provide the industry with additional, affordable quality PMA’d engine mount solutions for the aging fleet.”

AWI is an FAA/EASA Certified Repair Station for weld repairs and exhaust overhauls, as well as engine mount and turbo mount repairs. AWI is also an FAA/PMA manufacturer holding more than 300 PMA approvals.
