Aerospace Products International acquires Avionics International Supply

By General Aviation News Staff · November 11, 2013 ·

Aerospace Products International has acquired the assets of Avionics International Supply.

Headquartered in Denton, Texas, AIS is a wholesale distribution and repair services company, serving customers worldwide. In business since 1984, AIS’s main focus is the procurement and sales of new and used parts and supplies, avionics, electronics, tooling and test equipment, along with other supplementary services and programs designed to support the aircraft repair facility, according to company officials.

AIS is well-recognized across the aerospace industry and is considered a top supplier in the avionics marketplace, according to its new owners.

“Adding AIS’s product offerings is another step toward our goal of creating the leading independently-owned parts distributor in the aerospace industry,” said Steven H. Rosen, co-CEO of The Resilience Fund, a private investment company.

Resilience is an active investor in the aerospace industry. Current aerospace portfolio company investments include Flight Options, Sentient, Nextant, Aerospace Products and now Avionics International.

Kenneth Ricci, a Resilience co-investor, longtime aviation entrepreneur and chairman of Flight Options and Directional Aviation, and Ulf Buergel, both operating partners with Resilience, will oversee the investment in AIS, working closely with the firm’s management team, company officials said.

“Resilience will continue to deploy capital in both manufactured product and service companies in the aerospace sector. We will not only be providing significant capital in support of API and Flight Options but are always actively looking for new interesting platform investments in the aerospace industry,” added Rosen.

Since its founding in 2001, Resilience Capital has invested in 32 companies under 20 platforms. Its portfolio companies today employ more than 5,000 people in 14 states and collectively represent over $2 billion in revenues. Resilience manages in excess of $320 million for its global investor base which includes pension funds, insurance companies, foundations and endowments, fund of funds, wealth managers, and investment consultants.
