King Schools releases online Helicopter FIRC

By General Aviation News Staff · November 21, 2013 ·

Helicopter instructors can now take an online Flight Instructor Refresher Course (FIRC) devoted exclusively to their needs developed by King Schools in partnership with the Helicopter Association International (HAI).

“Helicopter flying has risks unique to helicopters, but until now flight instructors have not been given a refresher course that helps them coach their clients to manage those risks,” commented John King.

“We are thrilled about HAI’s contribution to this course,” added Martha King. “I think helicopter instructors will just love it.”

“The goal is that by giving helicopter flight instructors more insight into topics that are focused on helicopter flying, such as identifying and changing at-risk behaviors, teaching risk management for helicopter aerodynamics, and conducting an effective flight review, they will have more tools available to produce helicopter pilots truly ready to be pilot-in-command,” stated John.

Helo_FIRC-on-your-iPadThe new helicopter FIRC focuses on helicopters, but also shares many features with the King Schools online FIRC used by thousands of CFIs to renew their certificates. Shared features include iPad support and the King QuikRenew service that provides an online, paperwork-free renewal process with nothing to be notarized or mailed in.

Just like King Schools’ general FIRC course, the helicopter-specific course sells for $99 without CFI renewal processing or $124.95 with processing included.
