Checkride apps released

By General Aviation News Staff · November 26, 2013 ·

ASA now offers six apps to help students study for the Private, Instrument, Commercial, Flight Instructor, Helicopter, and Multi-Engine checkrides, as well as an app for pilots preparing for a Flight Review.

Using a question and answer flashcard format, ASA Checkride Apps list the questions most likely to be asked by examiners, and provide applicants with responses.

Based on the Oral Exam Guide Series by Michael Hayes, Checkride Apps teach not only what to expect, but also how to exhibit subject mastery and confidence when under the examiner’s scrutiny, according to ASA officials. They identify a candidate’s strengths, weaknesses, and gaps in his or her aeronautical knowledge, which increases study efficiency.

Questions can be marked for further study from any subject area to create a customized collection of flashcards focused on areas of concern and a student’s particular learning needs.

All questions include references to study resources where additional information on particular subject areas can be found.

The apps are compatible with iPad, iPad Mini, iPhone, and iPod Touch.
