SocialFlight, a leading source for general aviation events and the power behind the General Aviation News calendar, has added Facebook and Twitter integration to the suite of SocialFlight web and mobile apps, promoting general aviation events to an unlimited social media audience worldwide.
The new functionality allows SocialFlight users to publish any of the more than 5,000 SocialFlight events directly to the user’s personal Facebook/Twitter account with a single click, promoting the event to their personal social network.
SocialFlight’s success is built on the singular focus of unifying the aviation community and promoting the events that keep general aviation strong, according to officials. Previously, aviation organizations and event organizers utilized Facebook and Twitter as stand-alone networks with mixed results, since Facebook/Twitter posts only reach subscribed friends/followers. Now, any of SocialFlight’s 20,000 users can promote aviation events beyond the pilot community, exposing general aviation exponentially throughout general social media.
SocialFlight is a free mobile app and web suite that maps all of the general aviation events important to pilots such as fly-ins, airshows, pancake breakfasts, conventions, FAA Safety Seminars and much more.
SocialFlight users can search for events, add events, chat, upload photos, get email notifications, send event notices to their friends and even add events automatically to their Google or Outlook calendar. In addition, SocialFlight provides users with a personalized Weekly Event Planner, reaching out to them each week via email, informing them about the upcoming events in their local area and motivating them to get out and fly.
“The future growth of general aviation is dependent on our ability to expose non-pilot, aviation enthusiasts to the real world of GA,” said Jeff Simon, president of SocialFlight. “With the addition of Facebook and Twitter integration, any of the over 20,000 SocialFlight users can invite their entire online network of friends to join them at an upcoming fly-in or pancake breakfast to see what general aviation is all about. SocialFlight connects the online aviation world with the real world, and this is another step in our mission to promote General Aviation.”
SocialFlight’s rapid growth has been supported by a number of aviation companies, including Champion Aerospace, AOPA Insurance Services, Lightspeed Aviation, Spencer Aircraft, ASL CamGuard and Sennheiser.
SocialFlight officials said they are seeking additional partners to help expand the SocialFlight mission to support general aviation. Companies and organizations interested in learning more about SocialFlight’s partnership program can contact SocialFlight at [email protected].
