Sebring International Raceway will again be site of Expo camping

By General Aviation News Staff · December 9, 2013 ·

If you are going to the U.S. Sport Aviation Expo in Sebring, Florida, next month, you’ll find camping facilities at the adjacent Sebring International Raceway.

Camping for RVs, campers and tents will be $25 a night or $75 for the entire show, which is Jan. 16-19 at Sebring Regional Airport (SEF).

For those who want to camp under their wings, cost is $10 a night or $30 for the event.

RVs, tents, and campers are asked to use Gate 1 at the Sebring International Raceway and follow the signs to the Expo Campground. You are welcome to arrive at the campground at your leisure. Camping is available Jan. 13 to Jan. 20.

A limited number of hookups exist in the camping area and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Conventional bathrooms are available, but no showers.

Pumping of camper holding tanks may be scheduled with the on-site provider and paid for by the individual camper. Contact information will be at the bathroom facilities.

Daily Shuttle Service is available from the campground to the Expo Main Gate and airport terminal from 7:30 am – 6:30 pm.

For those flying in for the event who desire to camp, the Expo offers the opportunity to camp under the wing of your aircraft. Camping will be austere, with no facilities other than portable toilets near where you will be located, organizers warn.

“We will provide the space on grass, you provide everything else, including anchors and tie-downs,” they say, noting planes must be tied down.

Those who wish to camp under the wing are asked to let organizers know in advance by calling 863-655-6455.
