Flying Musicians to perform at Kitty Hawk

By General Aviation News Staff · December 10, 2013 ·

The Flying Musicians Association will participate in the 110th Anniversary of Powered Flight celebration at Kitty Hawk, N.C., on Dec. 16 and 17.

Members will provide music, staff an information booth, and present a presentation of why nearly 50$ of pilots are musicians with “Symphony in the Sky: The Correlation between Aviation and Music.”

John Zapp, President/CEO of FMA, said, “Being asked to participate in this historical celebration is a dream come true. FMA has made great strides over the last four years, working hard to establish a foothold in the aviation industry to secure support for our outreach to students. In 2014, our fifth year, FMA will see the convergence of efforts made by hundreds to fulfill our mission.”

FMA members Billy Gee and John Zapp, along with Donnie Story (son of World War II B-25 pilot Don Story), will provide music at the Pre-Flight Celebration Dinner/Banquet at the Hilton Garden Inn, Kitty Hawk.
