Air Tractor unveils new airframe and engine warranty

By General Aviation News Staff · December 13, 2013 ·

At the National Agricultural Aviation Association (NAAA) Convention this week in Reno, Nevada, Air Tractor President Jim Hirsch announced a new airframe and engine warranty policy to celebrate the company’s 40th anniversary and to mark 50 years of Pratt & Whitney’s PT6A engine.

The new Air Tractor airframe warranty is a full warranty on the airframe for one year or 500 hours, plus two years or 1,000 hours on major structural components.

Air Tractor has coupled this with an extended warranty on all PT6A engines for 2014 airplane deliveries. This offer extends the PT6A engine warranty to 2,500 hours or five years.

At its Olney, Texas, manufacturing facilities, Air Tractor produces a line of eight agricultural aircraft that includes 400, 500, 600 and 800-gallon capacity planes powered by Pratt & Whitney engines. They are used for agricultural purposes, fire fighting, narcotic crop eradication, fuel-hauling, fighting locust plagues, military strike/reconnaissance, and cleaning up oil spills in coastal waters. From North, South and Central America, to Australia, Indonesia and China to Spain, Italy, Croatia and Africa, Air Tractor aircraft can be found in more than 30 countries around the world and are supported by a global network of Air Tractor dealers.
