BEDFORD, Mass — Executive Flyers Aviation at Laurence G. Hanscom Field (BED) recently hosted the inaugural meeting of a new chapter of the international IMC Club.
Michael Goulian, Executive Flyers Aviation’s Chief Pilot, airshow performer and Red Bull Air Race pilot, also serves on the IMC Club’s Board of Directors.
“Executive Flyers is thrilled to be working with the IMC Club. The organization has made tremendous strides that benefit the safety of general aviation pilots worldwide,” he said.
“By forming an IMC Club chapter at Hanscom Field, EFA is providing another source of knowledge and continuing education to its customers and to the KBED flying community,” added Ed Keins, General Manager at Executive Flyers Aviation.
Executive Flyers Aviation is one of New England’s oldest and largest flight training facilities. Since 1964, Executive Flyers Aviation has been providing professional flight training to students pursuing flying as a hobby or as a future career. Among its students, Executive Flyers Aviation has helped launch the careers of numerous airline and military pilots, as well as a NASA Space Shuttle pilot.
IMC Club, through its worldwide chapters, provides organized “hangar flying” focused on building proficiency in instrument flying. The IMC Clubs concept is to bring together IFR-rated pilots who fly in the real-world “actual IMC” and provide them an opportunity to share stories, network with the larger pilot community, and gain valuable insights and tips for their IFR flying. All stories and scenarios produced by the club for use during chapter meetings are real and based on submission by their members. IMC Club Meetings provide a forum for promoting participation and discussion of IFR flying.
