Just introduced is the AppStrap for the iPad Air (5th Generation), which uses a protective, form-fitting gel case that attaches with a Velcro link to a heavy-duty, adjustable leg strap and buckle.
AppStrap’s Velcro-mating feature allows a user to instantly switch with one hand from portrait to landscape, share, or stow for takeoff or landing.
Like other AppStraps, the new product comes with two Tilt Pads that attach to the back of the gel case and leg strap with sewn-in Velcro strips to provide angled-up viewing and stability. These repositionable Tilt Pads also help to remove glare, company officials said.
“The AppStrap for the iPad Air is based on the gel-case design that has been extremely popular with fixed and rotor-wing pilots using the iPad Mini,” said Mark Pestal, AppStrap’s CEO.
The AppStrap for the iPad Air is the 8th product in the Denver company’s product line that provides a hands-free device for any iPad or tablet in or out of a case.
The AppStrap for the iPad Air (AS-Air) retails for $45.95. Designed and manufactured in the United States, it will be available for shipment Dec. 20.
AppStrap is a pilot-run company that donates 10% of its profits to AeroAngel, an all-volunteer air charity that uses professional pilots to fly high-performance aircraft on flights for those traveling for medical or other compelling reasons.
