Garmin reports that GLO and GLO for Aviation now both offer additional capabilities with the most recent software update. Originally, GLO could provide GPS data to just one device, such as an iPad, iPhone, or Android tablet via Bluetooth. With the latest software update, GLO can now Bluetooth to four devices, simultaneously.
Pilots and passengers may use the same GPS and GLONASS receiver.
A few changes have also been made to the functionality of the power button, which will now reduce the likelihood of GLO inadvertently turning on if it’s stashed away in a flight bag, for example, according to company officials.
Additional highlights include:
- GLO will automatically turn off after five minutes if a Bluetooth connection is not made, ensuring battery life is conserved
- Improved GLO software updates performed from Mac OS devices
- Improved overall GPS performance
GLO software is available to download for free via WebUpdater.
