Long Beach businesses donate to Veterans Airlift Command

By General Aviation News Staff · December 17, 2013 ·

LONG BEACH, Calif. — At a holiday fundraiser at the Long Beach Airport (LGB), Aeroplex Aviation, in partnership with Signature Flight Support, made a donation to Veterans Airlift Command, a nonprofit organization that provides free air transportation to wounded warriors, veterans and their families for medical and other compassionate purposes through a national network of volunteer aircraft owners and pilots.

More than 300 representatives of the airport community, local business leaders, aviation enthusiasts and public officials, including members of the Long Beach Airport Commission, attended the holiday party and charity raffle featuring a variety of gift items, including scenic flights over Southern California.

Even days after the party, donations are still coming in, event organizers noted.

Aeroplex Aviation and Signature Flight Support have pledged to donate any funds needed to reach the $3,000 fundraising goal.
