SEATTLE — Just in time for the 2014 Oscar nominations, on Jan. 11 aviation movie expert and author Mark Carlson will lead a presentation based upon his book, “Flying on Film: A Century of Aviation in the Movies, 1912-2012” at the Museum of Flight.
His decades-long devotion to aviation movies has given him access and insights into the people who lived the world of airplanes and the movies.

Topics during the 2:30 p.m. program include Hollywood special effects from the earliest aerial photography to today’s digital realm.
The lecture is free with admission to the museum.
Carlson will have a dialogue with the audience after his program, followed by a free book signing in the Museum lobby.
