NEW YORK, NY — Officials at Sheltair have announced that the company’s FBO at Long Island MacArthur Airport (KISP) now offers ground support services to both U.S. and non-U.S. citizen general aviation flights clearing customs at Long Island MacArthur Airport.
Sheltair KISP is adjacent to the newly renovated U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility that is located at the main terminal of Long Island MacArthur Airport.
As of Dec. 23, 2013, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection at Long Island MacArthur Airport began accepting non-U.S. citizen international general aviation flights.
Clearance is restricted to general aviation and provided for up to 20 individuals per flight, including passengers and crew. The customs hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and the existing procedures for clearing customs remain the same, FBO officials report.
All international arrivals clear customs at the main terminal between Gate B14 and B15. Sheltair KISP can meet and service the aircraft directly on the customs ramp, FBO officials add.
