VERO BEACH, Fla. — Piper Aircraft and its new aircraft dealers will exhibit a cabin mockup of the company’s Meridian (pictured) at the 2014 National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Convention & Expo, Jan. 24-27, in New Orleans.
“Our new airplane dealers have found the annual new automobile dealers meeting to be an excellent venue to meet with thousands of auto executives from throughout the world to promote our M-Class airplanes,” said Piper Vice President of Sales and Marketing Drew McEwen.
“With annual new car sales growing each year and as the vehicle market begins to re-normalize, this is a good time for our dealers to meet with the auto dealers who are always looking for efficient air transportation.”
The NADA Convention & Expo is the automotive industry event of the year and the world’s largest international gathering place for franchised new-vehicle dealers.
The Meridian is a single-engine turboprop that seats six. It is powered by the P&WC PT6A-42A 500 shp engine. Equipped with the Garmin G1000 avionics suite, the Meridian starts at $2,219,850.

I’m no fan of Corporate welfare like the massive subsidies that Piper Aircraft receives from taxpayers in the State of Florida, but I am a fan of their product. We can only hope that the economy improves enough (fat chance!) so that we don’t find Piper with their hands in our pockets again.
