Spirit Aeronautics expands

By General Aviation News Staff · January 22, 2014 ·

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Spirit Aeronautics has added another hangar to its Port Columbus International Airport (CMH) campus to support an expansion of the company’s aircraft interiors refurbishment service.

“Demand in the area for high quality interior refurbishment service on business category aircraft is growing and we are expanding to meet the need,” said Tony Bailey, president. “The addition of Hangar 3 to our campus allows our interiors shop the room needed to increase capacity and improve productivity. The space allows us to lay out full Bombardier Challenger, Global and Gulfstream sized interiors and work concurrently on different elements of a project which ultimately reduces aircraft down-time.”

The new hangar encompasses 17,860 square feet of ground area and 7,800 square feet of shop space.

Spirit Aeronautics is an authorized Rockwell Collins, Honeywell, Aircell, and Garmin service facility. It also provides other services that include aircraft management, avionics, parts sales, engineering, aircraft maintenance, and interior refurbishment.
