Dr. Penny Hamilton of Granby, Colorado will be inducted into the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame on March 20.
In addition to being a pilot, Hamilton co-holds a world and national speed record with her husband Bill, has taught elementary and younger students about aviation as “Penny, The Pilot”, is a participant in the Colorado Airport History Preservation Project and with the support of a Wolf Aviation Fund grant, conducted a research project looking at ways to promote women’s success in General Aviation Flight Training.
The PENEY fix, 7.6 nm from the Granby-Grand County Airport is also named for Dr. Hamilton.
