Those looking to gain a better understanding of the emerging unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) industry can take advantage of a two-day course being offered in Las Vegas Feb. 27-28 by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Worldwide.
Topics to be discussed include: Introduction and impact of UAS; UAS designs; legislation, certification and regulation; industry concerns; applications; operational profiles; business opportunities; and the future of UAS.
The State of Nevada, along with five other applicants, was designated as a UAS test site operator by the FAA in late 2013. Embry-Riddle Worldwide was included as an aerospace education provider in Nevada’s winning proposal.
The cost of the course is $500, and continuing education units are available.
