Sporty’s IPC Updated

By General Aviation News Staff · February 12, 2014 ·

Sporty’s Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC) program has been revamped and updated with new and valuable information for active instrument pilots. New video, graphics and animations tackle such topics as regulations, required instrument inspections, IFR clearances and aircraft equipment required for IFR flight.

Sporty’s IPC also features expanded content on IFR weather.  Information on weather theory, interpreting weather reports and forecasts, aircraft icing and aeronautical decision making is included.  Further, viewers will enjoy enhancements and updates regarding IFR charts, aircraft systems, as well as procedures and techniques for managing various IFR, in-flight emergencies.

Along with all the content updates, Sporty’s IPC is now available as a streaming online course for $39.95. Watch your program anywhere you have internet access. No software needs to be installed and the course may be viewed with Windows, Mac or iPad.

“We’ve always believed that to be a safe pilot, you must know more than enough to pass your next checkride,” says Sporty’s Vice President John Zimmerman. “This is a comprehensive program that goes beyond the basics to make you a safer, more proficient pilot.”

Instrument Proficiency Check is about two hours  in length and is accepted for FAA WINGS Credit. It is available for $39.95 as a DVD [D551A], iPad/iPhone app or a streaming course at sportys.com or by calling 1-800-SPORTYS.
