Wipaire gains new leadership in engineering, manufacturing

By General Aviation News Staff · February 13, 2014 ·

SOUTH SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Wipaire, Inc. has named new leaders to its engineering and manufacturing management. Tim Hendrickson was appointed Wipaire’s new director of manufacturing, while Chris Woken was named engineering manager.

Hendrickson brings over 15 years of manufacturing expertise to Wipaire, according to company officials.

“Tim brings knowledge and experience from working at large corporations, both publicly and privately owned,” states Chuck Wiplinger, president and COO. “We’re sure he will be an excellent asset for Wipaire.”

Woken previously held the position of composites engineer at Wipaire and brings extensive experience in aviation, composites, and regulations. As a pilot, he is able to relate to the operational considerations of the products Wipaire designs and manufactures.

“As an engineer, Chris has a unique combination of sophisticated engineering capabilities coupled with knowledge of management and the general aviation industry. This background makes him a valuable member of our management team,” notes Wiplinger.

For over 50 years, Wipaire has been engineering and manufacturing a full line of aircraft floats for all sizes of aircraft from the Piper Cub to the Viking Twin Otter, including most single engine Cessna aircraft. In addition, Wipaire has engineered over 100 Supplemental Type Certificated modifications. Wipaire offers maintenance, avionics installation and repair, custom interior design and installation, and exterior paint refinishing all in one convenient location.
