Career forum to be featured at Northwest Aviation Conference

By General Aviation News Staff · February 14, 2014 ·

An Aviation Business and Career Forum will be held one day before the Northwest Aviation Conference and Trade Show in Puyallup, Wash., next weekend.

Every year aviation enthusiasts flock to Puyallup for the show, which is hosted by the Washington Aviation Association. The 2014 conference and trade show is scheduled for Feb. 22-23.

This year the association invites participants to arrive a day earlier to attend the Aviation Business and Career Forum, beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 21. Forum participants can attend a variety of seminars that delve into topics related to airport issues, management, planning, revenue, and resources.

The Washington State Department of Transportation has partnered with WAA to present at three of the seminars. WSDOT Aviation Director Tristan Atkins is a speaker at the 9 a.m. seminar, Northwest Airports – A View from the Top, which will explore state and FAA concerns about general aviation issues.

WSDOT Aviation Planner Carter Timmerman is a speaker at the 10 a.m. seminar, Airport Planning – It’s Not Just the Airport, where attendees will learn about community involvement in airport planning.

Timmerman is also a speaker at the 1 p.m. session, You’re not Alone – Resources that Focus on Community Airports, which provides tools and advice for successful airport management.
