The White House’s latest budget includes the addition of a $100 per flight user fee on general aviation, a measure that Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association CEO Mark Baker thinks will fail to win congressional approval. Still, it’s likely the industry will face the same issue again, Baker told the Wichita Aero Club this week. “I don’t know this will ever go away,” he said.
