SAFE Toolkit App now available For iPads, iPhones, Androids

By General Aviation News Staff · April 15, 2014 ·

An iPhone and iPad version of the SAFE Toolkit app is now available.

31SAFE_ToolkitThe SAFE Toolkit was introduced for Android users earlier this month at SUN ’n FUN by the Society of Aviation and Flight Instructors (SAFE). It features near-real-time NWS weather, flight tracking, flight planning services, CFI endorsements and more.

The app is free for CFIs and other aviation educators and is downloadable from the Apple App Store and Google’s Play Store.

“It’s part of our mission to raise the bar for aviation education,” said Doug Stewart, SAFE Executive Director. “Besides weather, flight tracking and all CFI endorsements, this SAFE Toolkit has the full FAA Practical Test Standards for all certificates and ratings, the full text of the current Federal Aviation Regulations and Aviation Information Manual and an instructor’s checklist of necessary items for a student’s first solo.”

Toolkit developer David St. George reported avid interest in the app among Android-using CFIs and pilots attending SUN ’n FUN.
