Phillips 66 Aviation joins Citation Special Olympics Airlift

By General Aviation News Staff · May 22, 2014 ·

HOUSTON – Phillips 66 Aviation is joining Cessna Aircraft Co. to support the 2014 Citation Special Olympics Airlift (CSOA) and the efforts of volunteer pilots to transport Special Olympics athletes to the 2014 USA Games in New Jersey in June.

Phillips 66 Aviation is the official fuel of the 2014 Citation Special Olympics Airlift.

Arrival Citation SO Airlift“Phillips 66 Aviation is excited to support this event, which delivers an extraordinary experience for these athletes, thanks to Citation and Hawker aircraft owners, Citation and Hawker pilot volunteers, and to Ronson Aviation, our branded dealer at Trenton-Mercer Airport (TTN),” says Greg Hart, Manager, General Aviation, Phillips 66.

Cessna organizes this community endeavor every four years. For the 2014 Citation Special Olympics Airlift, Cessna enlisted Citation owners and, for the first time, Hawker jet owners to donate the use of their aircraft, pilots and fuel to support the event. This is the seventh Airlift organized by Cessna.

“It takes an extraordinary amount of coordination to create this amazing event,” Hart says, “and we’re thrilled to be part of it.”

Phillips 66 Aviation’s sponsorship of the Airlift is an extension of its commitment to compassion flights. In addition to helping underwrite an annual Corporate Angel Network program, Phillips 66 Aviation provides a $1-per-gallon avgas rebate to support pilots who donate their time and aircraft so that children and adults can access transportation to life-saving medical care free of charge. These flights also provide vital transport for organs and blood, and for patients awaiting organ transplants.

Phillips 66 Aviation is the nation’s largest network of branded aviation dealers. Visit phillips66aviation.com for more information.
