DALLAS — Angel Flight South Central (AFSC) will relocate its corporate headquarters to Ambassador Jet Center at Dallas Executive Airport.
“With more than 1,000 volunteer pilots in Texas and the surrounding states – nearly 300 of them residents of the Dallas/Fort Worth area – Angel Flight South Central has been looking for a new home on a friendly, easily accessible airport. Dallas Executive Airport provides a great venue for us. It’s centrally located to the primary region we serve — Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana — provides great accessibility for our pilots and their passengers, and is extremely friendly to general aviation pilots,” says Tim Dammon, president and CEO of AFSC.
For nearly 30 years, Angel Flight South Central has been headquartered near Addison Airport north of Dallas, but changes in airspace, airport space availability and costs, and transportation patterns for the people served by the nonprofit organization prompted the move to the southern edge of the D-FW area.
“Many of our volunteer pilots are transporting patients from across the region to Houston’s MD Anderson and Dallas’ Baylor Hospital. Dallas Executive Airport’s location makes it a great ‘hub’ for the pilots and the passengers. In addition, the airport is extremely friendly to General Aviation.” states Russell Ginn, the organization’s chairman.
Recently, the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) announced plans to establish a new National Airbase on Dallas Executive Airport, relocating its fleet of historic military aircraft and developing a $40 million visitor’s facility and museum.

Angel Flight will occupy its new headquarters in facilities managed by Ambassador Jet Center, and Ambassador owner George Moussa says, “We are thrilled to be hosting Angel Flight. Angel Flight South Central is a 501c3 non-profit whose mission is to provide free air transportation for people in need of medical treatment not available to them locally and for other humanitarian purposes. The volunteer pilots of Angel Flight receive no compensation for their efforts and provide their own aircraft and fuel all at no cost to any passenger. Since its inception in 1991, Angel Flight South Central has arranged nearly 60,000 flights on behalf of people who need access to distant medical care, and our volunteer pilots have provided nearly $40 million of their own flight costs in direct benefit to people in need.
