Banyan voted #1 Southeast FBO in Pilots’ Choice Awards

By General Aviation News Staff · July 6, 2014 ·

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Banyan Air Service at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE) was voted # 1 among the top five U.S. FBOs in the Southeast in the 2014 Pilots’ Choice Awards survey by FltPlan, the largest flight planning service in North America.

Banyan also placed # 6 among the Top 50 U.S. FBOs, and #8 in the Top 25 “Star FBOs.” The Star FBO category was created by FltPlan by using airport arrival data to generate a ranking that takes into account the traffic at an airport and the amount of competition on the field.

“It is an honor to be voted by pilots as the #1 FBO in the southeast.  The Banyan team is dedicated to providing exceptional service and the results of this survey indicate how pilots perceive we are doing that,” said Andrea Bahr, Banyan’s customer support manager.  “We would also like to congratulate our  Fort Lauderdale Executive Air Traffic Control (ATC) and U.S. Customs & Border Protection colleagues on their survey results. FXE ATC Tower was voted #2 among the top 10 in the U.S. and our FXE U.S. Customs & Border Protection was voted #4 among the top 10.  Our success wouldn’t be possible without the support they provide to us and our customers.”

Sarah Wilson of FltPlan said, “The 2014 Pilots’ Choice Awards was our best year ever. This year pilots cast more votes than ever.  In fact, there were 25% more votes cast this year than in 2013.  There are over 6,000 airports serving general aviation in the United States and often with several FBO facilities serving arrivals and departures at each airport, the competition to please customers is intense.”

With more than 145,000 active pilots on its site, FltPlan represents 65% of all business aviation.  This year over 8,000 votes were cast for the favorites in the following categories: Top U.S. FBOs, Top U.S. FBOs by region, Top FBO chains, Top Canadian, Mexican, and Caribbean FBOs, Best ATC Towers, Best ATC Centers, and Best U.S. Customs & Border Protection.  For more information about FltPlan visit www.fltplan.com.

Banyan Air Service based at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE) provides 24-hour FBO services, such as fuel, ground support, hangar space, and gourmet catering.  The FBO is also a gateway for aircraft traveling to and from the Bahamas, Caribbean and South America.  United State Customs is available from 8 am – 9 pm daily.

Banyan also provides aircraft sales, heavy aircraft maintenance and turbine engine services, avionics installations, parts solutions, Jet Runway Café and a Pilot Shop and online store at banyanpilotshop.net.
