FlightSafety promotes Bitgood to manager of Long Beach center

FlightSafety International has promoted Todd Bitgood to manager of its Learning Center in Long Beach, California. He succeeds Pete Nily, who has become a Regional Director of Training Operations.

In his new role, Pete will assist FlightSafety’s Learning Centers and Marketing and Sales teams with training requirements and programs for customers who operate their aircraft under PART 135.

FlightSafety International Todd Bitgood Manager Long Beach Learning CenterTodd was a Standards Pilot at Lufthansa’s Airline Training Center in Phoenix, prior to joining FlightSafety in 2001 as an instructor at the company’s Learning Center in Tucson, Arizona. He was promoted to Program Manager of the Bombardier Learjet 60 training program in 2004, and then to Director of Training in 2006. Todd most recently served as Assistant Manager of the St. Louis Learning Center.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Pennsylvania State University. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate, and is a Certified Flight Instructor and Multi-Engine Instructor.

The Long Beach Learning Center offers training for aircraft manufactured by Cessna, Embraer, Gulfstream, and Beechcraft. It is equipped with FlightSafety built simulators for the Cessna Citation II, Citation V, Embraer EMB 120, Gulfstream III, Gulfstream IV, Gulfstream V, Gulfstream G450, Gulfstream G550, and Beechcraft King Air 200 aircraft. A new Gulfstream G650 Level D qualified flight simulator is scheduled to enter service later this month. The Learning Center also offers crew emergency training facilities that include an aircraft fuselage and cabin fire trainer.
