New services offered to pilots attending Oshkosh

By General Aviation News Staff · July 14, 2014 ·

EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wisconsin — Services such as morning weather briefing and flight planning will be available in a new location for pilots at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2014, slated for July 28-Aug. 3 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh.

EAA Pilot Services, presented by Signature Flight Support, will be located in the Federal Pavilion. DTC DUAT will be the official weather provider, and ForeFlight will have iPads on hand for pilots to explore the latest ForeFlight Mobile features. The daily weather briefing will be provided by the National Weather Service.

“We are always seeking ways to bring more information and amenities to those who fly their airplanes to Oshkosh,” said Dave Chaimson, EAA’s vice president of business development. “We are pleased that this year we can join with Signature Flight Support to provide essential services, as well as the little extras appreciated by pilots who fly here to be a part of ‘World’s Greatest Aviation Celebration’ at EAA AirVenture.”

Located in the south portion of the Federal Pavilion, the EAA Pilot Services will provide computers and printers to provide the essential tools for checking weather or filing their flight plans.

Signature Flight Support is the world’s largest network of FBOs with more than 115 locations. Signature offers support for business and private aviation for refueling, hangarage and a variety of other amenities essential to the safe and efficient operation of an aircraft.

EAA Pilot Services will be open July 28-Aug. 3 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
