King Schools releases companion app

By General Aviation News Staff · July 29, 2014 ·

Pilots can now watch their King Schools video lessons on their iPads and iPhones even when disconnected from the Internet. The King Companion App, introduced at AirVenture and available as a free download from the Apple App Store, connects to a pilot’s King iLearn online account, allowing them to download videos from any of their courses. Pilots can then watch the videos later while off-line.

The latest version of the KING Companion App works with all King online video courses and includes new features to manage downloaded videos. The app keeps track of the viewer’s progress and will return them to the last-viewed point in each video.

KTC_CompanionApp_Laptop-iPad“The great thing about our iPad and iPhone Companion solution is that customers are not locked into using just their mobile devices or just using a computer,” said John. “The ability to work off-line on an iPad or iPhone and later sync their progress with King’s servers gives learning pilots the option to continue their learning from anywhere, connected or not.”

“Although we have made great improvements in the latest version of the KING Companion app, you can still look for more,” added Martha. “The next version, which also will be free, will include the ability to answer lesson questions in our Ground School and Test Prep courses and later sync that question progress with our servers. This will allow customers to fully complete lessons while disconnected and to seamlessly move between off-line on their iPad/Phone and online web access to their courses.”
