CTI Professional Flight Training adds sim

By General Aviation News Staff · August 26, 2014 ·

MILLINGTON, Tenn. — CTI Professional Flight Training has acquired a new flight simulator equipped with three-dimensional motion, accurate cockpit panel, and realistic control stick loading. CTI Professional Flight Training’s students will use the flight simulator to experience a lifelike flight mission while safely on the ground. The flight simulator is the Redbird FMX Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD), manufactured by Redbird Flight Simulations.

DSC_0220CTI Professional Flight Training’s new training device has eight high-resolution monitors, which provide a clear display of the flight instruments and more than 200° of wrap-around visuals from the pilot’s seat.

The Redbird FMX accurately simulates the experience of flying two of the flight school’s newest aircraft, the Diamond DA-20 C1 and DA-42 NG.

“CTI Professional Flight Training has some of the most advanced avionics available in a training aircraft. The FMX allows our students to familiarize themselves with the new technology while they’re on the ground, instead of burying their heads in the cockpit while in the air,” says David Kaiser, CTI PFT’s Vice President of Flight Training Operations.

CTI Professional Flight Training has been training professional pilots at its Fort Lauderdale location for over 25 years, and recently expanded its operation to a satellite base at Millington Regional Jetport near Memphis, Tennessee. This expansion includes a complete renovation of an existing hangar at the Jetport, an order for 20 new fully-equipped training aircraft, and plans for a full campus-style training experience, including on-site dorms, dining, and recreation facilities. CTI Professional Flight Training’s training format can take a student from zero hours to a licensed commercial pilot in approximately eight months, according to officials.
