Top Gun Aviation celebrates 25 years

By General Aviation News Staff · September 18, 2014 ·

HAMMOND, La. — Top Gun Aviation at Hammond Northshore Regional Airport (HDC) is marking a silver and golden anniversary all in one year. Tom Eiermann acquired Top Gun Aviation in 1989. Since then, it has grown from a two-person operation to a 15-person operation. As the FBO marks its 25th year in 2014, it is also celebrating Tom’s 50th year in the aviation industry.

This EPIC branded location has a unique past, having survived and provided the fueling support to customers through three Super Bowls and four hurricanes.

Perhaps most notably when it comes to overcoming obstacles is the fact that Top Gun Aviation was the only FBO operating within 50 miles of New Orleans throughout the wrath and clean-up of Hurricane Katrina, FBO officials note.

“It has been a great and growing experience, and watching my son Chad now take control and prosper has been a fulfilling experience,” said Tom Eiermann.
