An accident at a Young Eagles rally killed a 78-year-old pilot and 14-year-old boy Saturday near Buffalo, N.Y. According to a report from NBC News, a Cessna 172 crashed into a Searey aircraft, killing the two on board the C-172. The other aircraft made an emergency landing, but the two passengers only suffered minor injuries, according to the report.
The National Transportation Safety Board, the FAA and local police are conducting an investigation. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the pilot and passenger involved in the mishap,” officials from the Experimental Aircraft Association said in a statement.
