Frosting for Flight judges named

By General Aviation News Staff · September 30, 2014 ·

OSHKOSH, Wis. — The Oshkosh chapter of Women in Aviation, International, has revealed the names of its “celebrity judges” for the organization’s fourth annual Frosting for Flight cupcake competition. The event raises funds for the chapter’s $500 Spirit of Flight scholarship.

Emily Makowski, host of Oshkosh Today; Wes Hakari, FAA Safety Team Program Manager; and Peter Moll, Wittman Regional Airport director, will serve as judges. Miss Oshkosh 2014, Samantha Pech, will lead the Crowd Favorite judging.

With a limit of 10 competitors, bakers are reminded to register early, before Oct. 8. Competitors are encouraged to form a one- or two-person team to bake and decorate a prize-winning cupcake, and carry out a cupcake theme through table decorations and costume/dress.

Each judge will taste up to 10 cupcakes, comment on and score them based on taste, appearance, and theme.

Plaques to the top three contestants will be awarded. Competition fees are $5 per person. Cupcakes will be on sale, starting at $1 each.

The event takes place on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 1 – 3 p.m. at the Wittman Regional Airport Terminal Building. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
