Notes on Flying VFR published

By General Aviation News Staff · October 8, 2014 ·

“Notes on Flying VFR” has just been published by University Aviation Press.

The book contains summaries of all subjects pertaining to VFR flight in a single-engine, fixed-wing aircraft, according to the publisher. It is intended as a refresher and a reference for licensed, non-instrument-rated pilots, but may also be useful in preparation for a flight review, the publisher noted.

ASAAuthor Anthony Repeta addresses a multitude of topics, including general aircraft operations, avionics and radio phraseology, regulations and procedures for flight in all classes of airspace, airport communications, in-flight emergency procedures, flight services, weather, flight planning calculations, wilderness survival and general aviation accident data.

In addition, 20 appendices list flight plan and weather report sequences, wind estimation tables, useful formulas, weights/measures, visual signals, accident statistics, radio frequency assignments and much more!

This 238-page PDF eBook is illustrated throughout with some color photography and line-art by the author. Price: $19.95.
