In a presentation held at the National Business Aviation Association‘s (NBAA) Convention this week in Orlando, Phillips 66 Aviation presented Corporate Angel Network (CAN) with a $21,000 donation.
CAN is a charitable organization that helps cancer patients access medical treatment by arranging free air travel to recognized treatment centers by utilizing the empty seats onboard corporate jets during their normal business trips.
Phillips 66 Aviation’s donation to CAN represents proceeds garnered from the Corporate Angel Award, a program that recognizes corporations and their flight departments that have demonstrated dedication as participants in Corporate Angel Network. Phillips 66 Aviation has participated in the program since 2010, donating more than $100,000.
Flight departments working with CAN are featured in quarterly, full-page aviation magazine ads, sponsored by Phillips 66 Aviation, Safe Flight Instrument Corporation and Business & Commercial Aviation magazine.
Working in conjunction with corporate flight departments, CAN arranges approximately 3,000 free patient flights each year. More than 46,000 flights have been coordinated by CAN since its inception in 1981.
“Corporate Angel Network depends on the generosity of organizations like Phillips 66 Aviation to support our mission in providing free travel on corporate jets for cancer patients, bone marrow donors and bone marrow recipients,” said Dick Koenig, Executive Director, Corporate Angel Network. “Phillips’ substantial donation will go a long way in bringing patients and their loved ones to and from medical facilities to receive the best possible medical attention and treatment, and we sincerely thank Phillips 66, Safe Flight and Business and Commercial Aviation for their much appreciated generosity.”
