Self-serve fuel station now at GJT

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — West Star Aviation recently opened a self service refueling station at its Grand Junction (GJT) location.

AvFuel Self Serve Station HR“We are excited to begin offering this new service to our customers in the Western Colorado area,” said Dave Krogman, General Manager, West Star Aviation, GJT. “We put a lot of effort into finding new and creative ways to meet our customer’s needs and make doing business with us as quick and easy as possible, and the new self service station is one way we are working to achieve that goal.”

As part of the grand opening celebration, the first customers to use the new avgas self serve station received a complimentary West Star Aviation shirt. To learn more about this new service, contact Krogman at 970-243-7500.

West Star Aviation specializes in the repair and maintenance of airframes, windows, and engines, as well as major modifications, avionics installation and repair, interior refurbishment, surplus avionics sales, accessory services, paint and parts.

In addition to its facilities in East Alton, Ill.; Grand Junction, Colo.; and Columbia, S.C., West Star Aviation runs the maintenance operations at Aspen-Pitkin County Airport in Aspen, Colo., and at Spirit of St. Louis Airport in Chesterfield, Mo. The company also provides complete FBO services for transient aircraft at its newly remodeled East Alton and Grand Junction facilities.

    Great news for pilots there, but hardly “new and creative”. Self service gas stations have been around since the energy crisis in the mid 1970s,,and on airports since the 1980s. What would be new and creative though would be for AVFuel to start delivering 91+ AKI mogas to its many FBOs.
