West Star Aviation opens accessory shops at CAE and ALN

West Star Aviation recently added accessory shop capabilities at its Columbia, South Carolina (CAE) location. The new shop became fully operational in April. In addition, West Star will open another all new accessory shop at its East Alton, Ill. (ALN) location during the fourth quarter of 2014.

CAE Accessory ShopThe new CAE shop offers starter-generator repair/overhaul and testing, Learjet components repair, inspection and overhaul, King Air landing gear inspection and overhaul, full non-destructive testing (NTD) capabilities for magnetic particle inspection, and welding for aluminum, stainless steel, and all nickel alloys.

In addition, it offers capacity testing for batteries, nickel cadmium, lead acid, sealed lead acid, as well as repair and testing for emergency power supplies.

“The accessory shop at CAE has already been very successful in serving our clients in the area,” said Rodger Renaud, COO, West Star Aviation. “Adding the capabilities at ALN will allow us to further meet our customers’ needs no matter where they are located.”

ALN Accessory Shop 2 HR1Once operational, the new ALN shop will focus on providing services for aircraft wheels, adding battery capabilities before the end of 2014. Moving forward, ALN plans to expand its offerings to include brake services as well.

The West Star Aviation facility located in Grand Junction, Colo. (GJT) also offers a wide range of repair and overhaul capabilities in their full service accessory shop.

West Star Aviation specializes in the repair and maintenance of airframes, windows, and engines, as well as major modifications, avionics installation and repair, interior refurbishment, surplus avionics sales, accessory services, paint and parts.

In addition to its facilities in East Alton, Grand Junction, and Columbia, it runs the maintenance operations at Aspen-Pitkin County Airport in Aspen, Colo., and at Spirit of St. Louis Airport in Chesterfield, Mo. The company also provides complete FBO services for transient aircraft at its newly remodeled East Alton and Grand Junction facilities.
